Igor V. Zyuzin Chief Executive Officer and Director
Igor V. Zyuzin is our Chief Executive Officer and Director. He has held this position since December 2006. Since March 2003, when Mechel was organized. Mr. Zyuzin served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Southern Kuzbass Coal Company, a position Mr. Zyuzin has held since May 1999. From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Zyuzin was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mezhdurechensk Coal Company, which was merged into Southern Kuzbass Coal Company, and a member of the Board of Directors of Kuzbass Central Processing Plant. Mr. Zyuzin holds a doctorate in coal mining and is also a certified coal mining engineering economist.
Yevgeny V. Mikhel First Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Yevgeny Mikhel is First Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Mikhel has been serving Vice President for Legal Matters and Director of the of Judicial Protection and Legal Regulation Administration from September 2007 until April 2009. From February 2006 until September 2007 he held the positions of Chief Counsel and Director of Judicial Protection Legal Regulation Department Mechel OAO. From June 2003 until February 2006 he was Director of Judicial Protection Legal Regulation Department Mechel Steel Group OAO (since July 2005 – Mechel OAO). Before that he was Deputy CEO for Legal Matters of Mechel Trading House OOO until June 2003. From May 2000 to July 2002 he was a legal adviser in the Bureau of Civil Law Disputes and Support of International Economic Activity, as well as Head of the Department of Litigation and Enforcement of Court Orders of Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant. From November 1998 to May 2000, Mr. Mikhel worked in the Chelyabinsk branch of Sberbank as the senior legal adviser. From September through November 1998, he worked as legal adviser in the Traktorzavodskoye Municipal Enterprise. He also held the position of legal adviser in Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant OAO from May 1994 until March 1998. Mr. Mikhel graduated from the Urals State Law Academy.
Vladimir A. Polin Senior Vice President
Vladimir A. Polin is our Senior Vice President. In this position Mr. Polin coordinates the Group’s management companies activities. From June 2006 till Desember 2008 Mr. Polin was Chief Executive Officer of Mechel Management OOO. From July 2003 to June 2006, he was Senior Vice President-Production of Mechel OAO. From July 2002 until June 2003, Mr. Polin served as the Executive Director-First Deputy General Director of our Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant. Mr. Polin has almost 20 years of floor and management experience in the manufacture and marketing of steel products, and holds a degree in metallurgy from Chelyabinsk Polytechnic University.
Stanislav A. Ploschenko Chief Financial Officer
Stanislav Ploschenko is our Chief Financial Officer. Previously he held the position of Acting Chief Financial Officer from June 2007 to January 2008. Before he served as Mechel’s Deputy CFO and Deputy Treasurer for Corporate Lending from June 2006 to June 2007. From 2001 to 2006 he held a number of senior positions at Commerzbank AG and Commerzbank (Eurasija) SAO. The last position was the Head of Metal and Mining Industries Group, Corporate Clients Department, Commerzbank (Eurasija) SAO. From 1995 to 1996 Stanislav Ploschenko worked as an auditor for Bank's Audit Service LLC. Mr. Ploschenko holds an MSc in International Securities Investment & Banking from the ISMA Centre at the University of Reading, a BA in International Finance & Trade from the University of Portsmouth (UK) and a Specialist Diploma in International Economics from The Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation.
Mukhamed M. Tsikanov Senior Vice President on Economics and Management
Mukhamed Tsikanov is our Senior Vice President on Economics and Management. Previously, he was Acting General Director of Mechel’s Yakutugol OJSHC from October 2007 to January 2008. Prior to this, Mr. Tsikanov was General Director of Elgaugol OAO from 2005 to 2007. From 2004 to 2005 he was Senior Vice President of Yukos-Moscow OOO. From 1993 to 2005, he held various positions in the government agencies, including: Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, from 2000 to 2004; Deputy Minister of Economy of the Russian Federation, from 1997 to 2000; First Deputy Head of the Administrative Program for Economy Stabilization and Development of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic from January to August 1997; and Minister of Economy of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic from 1993 to 1997. He worked in various scientific institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and Russia from 1977 to 1993. Mr. Tsikanov holds doctorate in economics and professorship.
Victor A. Trigubko Senior Vice President - Government Relations
Victor A. Trigubko is Senior Vice President for Government Relations of Mechel OAO from August 2006. Since 2005 Mr. Trigubko has held the position of Vice President for Government Relations. In 2003-2005 Mr. Trigubko was Mechel OAO Vice President for Representation in Central and Eastern Europe, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mechel Campia Turzii and Member of the Board of Directors of Mechel Targoviste. Working in this position, Mr. Trigubko achieved significant extension and strengthening of Mechel’s cooperation with the European partners and actively contributed to Mechel’s acquisition of new assets. In 2002-2003 Mr. Trigubko was Director of Mechel Trading AG Representative Office in Romania. In 1997-2002 Mr. Trigubko headed Izhstal OAO Representative Office in Moscow. In 1992-1997 Mr. Trigubko held executive positions with the metallurgical company, Unibros Steel Co. LTD, with his last position there being Deputy General Director.
Mr. Trigubko graduated from the Kalinin (now Tver) State University, Economic Faculty, in 1982. Upon his graduation Mr. Trigubko worked in the Foreign Relations Department of the USSR State Committee for Labor and Social Issues and then in the USSR Trade Representation in Romania.
Elena V. Selivanova Vice-president for Human Resources and Social Politics
Elena Selivanova is Vice-president for Human Resources and Social Politics of OAO Mechel. Since January 2007 she was Director of Human Resources Department of Mechel OAO. From 2004 to 2006, Ms. Selivanova held the position of Executive Director for Human Resources of Volgotanker Company. She also was a member of Board of Directors at the company. From 2002 to 2004, Ms. Selivanova was Director of the Department for Organizational Development and Personnel Management of Firma Omega-97 OOO. From 1999 to 2002, Ms. Selivanova was Head of the Personnel Service at Vympel-Communications OAO. From 1998 to 1999 she was Personnel Manager at Bakster Export Corp. Representative Office. Ms. Selivanova graduated from the Moscow State Cultural Institute. She had her post-graduate degree in the Higher Psychology College. Ms. Selivanova is a member of Expert Council of Personnel Specialists Association.
Oleg V. Korzhov Vice-president for Business-planning and Analyses
Oleg Korzhov is Vice-president for Business-planning and Analyses of Mechel OAO. Since July 2008 he had the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer for economy and finance of Mechel Management Company OOO. Prior to that he was working as Director of the Economy and Planning Department at Mechel Management Company OOO for two years. From 2005 to 2006 Mr. Korzhov held the position of Director for the Economy and Planning Office Mechel OAO. He was Director for economy and finance at Nizhnetagilsky Metallurgical Plant (NTMP) of Evrazholding Company OOO from 2003 until 2005. In the period between 1998 and 2003 he was Deputy Head of Economy Department at Nizhnetagilsky Metallurgical Plant OAO. Later he took the position of the Head of Economy Department at NTMP OAO. From 1997 to 1998 he was Executive Officer of Nikoremstroy OAO. Since 1995 until 1997 he was Deputy Chief Executive Officer for economy and finance Nikoremstroy OAO (NTMP OAO’s subsidiary). In the period from 1993 to 1995 he worked at various positions at Nizhnetagilsky Metallurgical Plant named after V.I. Lenin. His latest position was the Head in the Bureau of Economy and Finance. He graduated from Urals Polytechnic Institute named after S.M. Kirov with the degree in economy and management in metallurgy. He had his post-graduate education in the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation with the degree in general management. PhD in Economy.
Boris G. Nikishichev Vice President for Mining
Boris G. Nikishichev is our Vice President for Mining. He also works as Chief Executive Officer of Mechel Engineering OOO from December 2008 and Chief Executive Officer for Mechel Mining Management Company OOO from August 11, 2009. Prior to that appointment he was our Director for Mining since February 2007 until January 2009. Previously, he was our Senior Vice President for Mining from February 2005 to 2007. From 2004 to February 2005, he served as Deputy General Director of Raspadskaya Coal Company. From 1998 to 2004, he held the position of First Vice President in Sokolovskaya Holding Company. In addition, from 1999 to 2004, he was also First Vice President of the Mining Industrialists of Russia, a noncommercial partnership. From 1993 to 1999, Mr. Nikishichev was Deputy General Director for Long-Term Development and Capital Construction, Vice President/Director for Restructuring of Coal Production in Russian Coal Company. From 1991 to 1993, he served as First Deputy President of the Management Board of Russia’s Coal Corporation. From 1970 to 1990, Mr. Nikishichev held various executive positions at YuzhKuzbassUgol United Coal Mining Company. He graduated from the Siberian Metallurgical Institute with a degree in mining engineering. Mr. Nikishichev also holds a doctorate in technical science from the Moscow State Mining University.
Pyotr S. Syrkin Vice-president for Capital Construction
Pyotr Syrkin is Vice-president for Capital Construction of Mechel OAO. Previously he held the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer for capital construction of Mechel Management Company OOO. Prior to that he worked for Souzspetsstroy Company first as the President and as the Chairman of Board of Directors later on. From 1989 until 2004 he held various positions including Chief Executive Officer of Rostovshachtstroy Company, the Department Chairman for mining construction at Novotcherkassk Polytechnic University. He also was Chief Executive Officer of Donugol ZAO. He graduated from Kuzbass Polytechnic Institute and has a degree in mining engineering and construction of underground mines, Doctor of Science.
