Izhstal boosts exports

Izhstal PAO (part of Mechel Group, MOEX: IGST) has shipped 42,000 tonnes of steel products in January-September to its foreign customers, which is a 81% increase year-on-year.

Shipments to the CIS member states went up by 22% to reach 22,000 tonnes, while exports to far abroad nearly quadrupled to reach 20,000 tonnes. The plant exports long and calibrated rolls, high-precision steel sections from carbon, alloyed, stainless and high-speed steels. The plant’s products are exported to Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, Turkey, the United States, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, France, the Czech Republic, Latvia and Bulgaria. Exports are mostly handled by Mechel Service Global — an international sales network that markets Mechel Group’s products.

Belarus which accounts for over 30% of the plant’s exports, is one of the plant’s priority markets. In January-September, the plant shipped 13,500 tonnes of products to Belarus, which is a 40% increase year-on-year. Izhstal’s customers include such major Belarusian companies as MAZ, Minsk Tractor Works, BelAZ, Gomselmash and some 20 more of Belarus’s automobile, agricultural machinery and machine-tool producers.
