Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant confirmed high rebar quality

Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (ChMK PAO, MOEX: CHMK, part of Mechel Group) earned certificates for four types of its rebar for reinforced concrete structures. Rebar rolls are a key product for the plant. These certificates will enable the plant to expand its marketing capabilities on both domestic construction market and those of near abroad.

Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant’s certificates were grated by Mosstroisertifikatsiya — Russia’s leading certifier of construction purpose products. Experts audited the plant’s operational processes, including steelmaking, rolling, finishing and shipping. The rebar’s quality was tested in the plant’s laboratories and an independent Moscow-based testing center. These certificates confirm the products’ compliance with the inter-state GOST 34028 standard and are valid until 2023.

Rebar is widely used in the construction industry. The plant produces hot-rolled and thermomechanically hardened rebar of 6 to 40 mm in diameter. It is used for building cast-in-place apartment complexes, major sports and industrial objects.

“Demand for Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant’s products is traditionally high. Today, our rebar rolls are sold everywhere in Russia from Kaliningrad to Sakhalin, as well as neighboring countries and beyond,” the plant’s sales director Vadim Shalygin noted.
