Izhstal confirms quality management efficiency

Izhstal PAO (part of Mechel Group, MOEX: IGST) passed a re-certification audit for its quality management systems compliance with the international ISO 9001:2015 standard. This certificate improves the plants competitive advantages both domestically and internationally, enables it to receive state orders and supply critical duty products to automobile, aviation, engineering and shipbuilding companies.

The audit was conducted by experts from TÜV SÜD, a leading global certifier. They examined the plant’s electric furnace and rolling workshops, the functioning of procurement processes, personnel management, development of technologies, sales, planning and production, and appraised the quality of technical documentation transactions as well as held interviews with the plant’s specialists. Following the audit, international experts noted the continuous improvement of the quality management system and concluded that it was compliant with the international ISO 9001:2015 standard.

Izhstal received its first certificate of compliance with the ISO 9000 series standard in 2003 and since then successfully passes monitoring and re-certification audits every year. The plant has repeatedly been awarded by the Udmurt Republic’s President and Chief for its product quality. In 2017 its subsidiary Izhstal-TNP’s output was listed among Russia’s 100 Best Products.
