Mechel Service supplies rebar for Moscow Central Ringroad

Mechel Groups sales subsidiary Mechel Service OOO supplied 700 tonnes of rebar for construction of Moscows Central Ringroad.

Rebar produced by Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (part of Mechel Group) is now used for constructing bridges, tunnels and transport infrastructure of the Central Ringroad in Moscow Region’s Pushkin District and the town of Zvenigorod, as well as the bridge over railways on the A107 highway and the old Simferopol Highway.

The Central Ringroad is a major road infrastructure development project. The new highway will become a cornerstone for the high-speed road system in the entire Central Russia. It is due to be 529.9 km long. The Central Ringroad is due to relieve the Russian capital’s outcoming highways and the Moscow Ringroad of transit cargo shipping as cargo trucks are redirected to their destinations before they are anywhere near Moscow. The Central Ringroad will enable shipping companies and their clients to decrease cargo shipping costs and transport expenses. It is due to be completed in 2022.
