Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant ups hardware sales in January

Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant (BMK AO, part of Mechel Group) has shipped 4% more hardware to its customers in January year-on-year.

In January, Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant sold 37,600 tonnes of hardware. The plant increased sales to electrode facilities and companies in the oil, engineering, automobile and construction industries.

Sales of welded wire for electrode production and low-carbon wire for reinforced concrete structures demonstrated the most growth, going up by 64% and 53% accordingly. Sales of wire nails went up by 48%. Sales of welded alloyed wire for overlay welding of metal structures in engineering, automobile and bridge construction industries went up by 39%. Cold-worked rebar and commercial quality wire, both used in the construction industry, demonstrated growth by 32% and 26% accordingly. Sales of steel ropes for the oil industry went up by 16%. Sales of strands, which are used in industrial and civil construction, showed a small growth of 2%.

“Despite the seasonal factor, hardware market capacity has grown by 5% in January as compared to the same month last year. Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant’s sales and production services promptly responded to the nascent demand, increasing our hardware sales,” Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant AO’s Chief Executive Officer Viktor Kamelin commented.
