Izhstal boosts sales to Belarus

Izhstal PAO (part of Mechel Group, MOEX: IGST) increased sales in 2017 to the Republic of Belaruss companies by 7,000 tonnes, or 68% year-on-year.

Izhstal PAO was part of the agreement between the Udmurt Republic and the Republic of Belarus for 2015-2017. The plant’s customers included Belarus’s major producers in the automobile, engineering, agricultural machine building and instrumental industries.

Izhstal more than doubled supplies to Belarus’s leading plant MAZ OAO which produces truck tractors, drop-side trucks, chassis for installation of different special equipment, passenger buses. Sales to the Gomselmash holding, which is among the world market leaders of combine harvesters and other complexes of agricultural machines, nearly tripled. Sales to other major agricultural machinery producers such as Agrostroi and Spetsagro, went up by 2.3 and 2.7 times accordingly. Supplies to Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant have tripled.

Izhstal sells its steel products to over 20 Belarusian facilities. Its primary product range includes long rolls from carbon, alloyed, stainless and high-speed steels, calibrated rolls and high-precision shapes.

“We consider Belarus a priority market for us and plan to develop our ties with the republic’s industrial companies,” Izhstal PAO’s sales director Andrian Sorokin commented.
