Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant produces steel FOR Zapsibneftekhim construction

Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (ChMK PAO, MOEX: CHMK) supplied high-strength steel rolls for construction of ZapSibNeftekhim petrochemical complex in Tobolsk. The plant delivered a batch of beams and steel sheet to the construction site.

The beams and rolled flat sheets were produced by Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant’s rolling mills from 09G2S-grade steel which is distinguished by high strength, life and durability, as well as excellent weldability. The steel’s characteristics enable the rolls to endure a wide range of temperatures from -70C to +425C.

ZapSibNeftekhim will become Russia’s largest modern petrochemical complex aimed at deep processing of byproducts from oil and gas production in Western Siberia, such as associated petroleum gas. The new complex will be able to process up to 22.4 billion cubic meters of gas annually, thus preventing its flaring at gas deposit sites and harmful emissions of 40 million tonnes a year.

SapSibNeftekhim is part of the Tobolsk production site comprising three major facilities — monomer, polymer and electricity and heat generation. The complex is due to use state-of-the-art technologies in processing hydrocarbons.
