Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant Invested 400 Million Rubles in Overhaul of Environment Protection Equipment

Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (ChMK PAO, part of Mechel Group) completed overhaul repairs of its facilities as part of its ecological program. In 2017, a total of some 400 million rubles were invested in repairs of dust-exhaust systems, gas cleaning units and water supply systems.

Repairs were conducted in all of Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant’s key workshops, each of which is equipped with powerful environment protection systems. Waste collecting units were thoroughly tested and then scrupulously repaired, which guarantees their compliance with high ecological requirements.

The plant paid particular attention to repairs of its sinter facility’s precipitators and dust-exhaust systems, the steel smelting facility’s gas exhaust ducts and gas cleaners, as well as renovation of the rolling workshops’ gas and dust removal facilities and the plant’s water supply closed circuit equipment.

“We repair our gas cleaners and dust-exhaust systems promptly and carefully, which enables our plant to minimize its impact on the environment. Next year our large-scale ecological measures will continue,” ChMK PAO’s managing director Anatoly Schetinin commented.
