Elgaugol reports change in management

Elgaugol OOO (part of Mechel Groups mining division) reports a change in its management.

Ivan Tsepkov was appointed Elgaugol OOO’s new managing director. Prior to his appointment, he served as Yakutugol Holding Company AO (part of Mechel)’s chief operations officer. His predecessor at Elgaugol, Boris Agudalin, has left the company.

“Ivan Tsepkov has had a long track record at Yakutia’s largest coal company. He had to tackle the most difficult operational issues. I am sure that he will successfully use this knowledge and experience in managing Elga Coal Complex — one of the most important investment projects both for the Group and the entire coal industry. He will continue with the technical revamping program, increasing overburden and production volumes, including production of finished products, as well as implementing infrastructure projects at Elga.

“We are grateful to Boris Agudalin for his contribution to one of the Group’s key facilities. During his tenure, he managed to ensure the coal complex’s stable and productive work,” Mechel Mining Management OOO’s Chief Executive Officer Pavel Shtark noted.

Ivan Tsepkov worked at Yakutugol Holding Company’s chief operations officer since 2015. In 2010-2015, he headed the mining workshop at Yakutugol’s Neryungrinsky Open Pit. He began working at Yakutugol in 1998, starting as service and maintenance wireman at Neryungrinsky Open Pit. In 1991-1998, he worked as machine-tool operator at Neryungri’s Construction Materials Plant.

He graduated from Yakutia’s State University in 1997 with a specialty in underground development of commercial minerals.
