BMK Spring Wire Awarded at International Industrial Exposition

Spring wire produced by Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant (BMK PAO, part of Mechel Group) won a silver medal at the 23rd International Metal-Expo2017 exhibition which was held in Moscow on November 14-17, 2017.

Gold and silver medals are awarded for the most significant achievements in production of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, modern equipment and technologies.

BMK’s new steel spring wire, tempered in oil, has high plastic and strength properties, which affords its products high elasticity and cyclic life. This wire is used to produce valve springs and suspension springs for light motor and load carrier vehicles. Its technical properties and performance characteristics make it easily the equal of imported analogues.

Apart from this novelty, BMK presented over 60 samples of its key products at Mechel Group’s corporate booth, including wire, microwire, cold-worked rebar, strap, strands, cables, including more new products — aircraft wire ropes and polymer-coated ropes.

Metal-Expo is one of Russia’s most popular industrial exhibitions, offering opportunities for business meetings, negotiations and partnership deals. This year, over 530 companies from 35 countries took part in the expo, with over 30,000 visitors from construction, engineering, fuel and energy, transport, logistics and steel trade industries.

Mechel’s corporate booth also showcased the products of other facilities in the group’s steel division — Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant, Urals Stampings Plant, Izhstal and Vyartsilya Metal Products Plant, as well as Mechel Service sales network.
