BMK Launches Production of New Welding Wire

Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant (BMK PAO, part of Mechel Group) subjected to testing four new types of welding wire for boiler and oil and gas equipment. Test results enable the plant to expand its market and increase the share of high-margin products.

The first 20-tonne batches of these new products have already been made and shipped to customers.

Tests showed that BMK’s wire can be used for various welding needs and helps produce a quality and strong welded seam, which improves the reliability and long life of assembled steel structures.

The tests were conducted by the National Welding Control Agency (NAKS) in a special evaluation center. Experts examined the wire’s chemical composition, mechanical and welding properties, as well as the quality of welded seams.

“Following test results, BMK was given a testimonial of competence valid for three years. This certificate is proof of our product’s quality and reliability for our customers,” BMK AO’s quality assurance director Anatoly Nosov noted.
