BMK Aircraft Ropes Win Diploma at Russias 100 Best Products Contest

Zinc-coated aircraft ropes produced by Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant (BMK PAO, part of Mechel Group) won a diploma at Russias 100 Best Products contest in the Producer Goods nomination.

BMK mastered production of steel zinc-coated 4-millimeter ropes last year at the request of Russian Helicopters holding. These ropes are used in the steering systems for civilian and military helicopters. The novel stranding type and wire diameter differ these ropes from those used earlier and afford them more durability and increase their life several times, while the rope’s extra toughness increases the precision of tail rotor control. In 2016 this new product won a gold medal at the major steelmaking exhibition Metal-Expo.

This year Russia’s 100 Best Products contest is being held for the 20th time. It has been organised by Russia’s state committee for standardization and metrology in a bid to support Russian companies’ stable development, and improve the quality and competitiveness of Russian products and services.
