Urals Stampings Plant Subsidiary Wins International Expert Approval

The Chelyabinsk subsidiary of Urals Stampings Plant (Uralkuz PAO, part of Mechel Group) passed supervisory audit on its quality management systems compliance with the international ISO 9001:2008 standard. Experts noted the facilitys constant improvement of administrative and production processes.

Uralkuz PAO’s Chelyabinsk facilities which focus on making steel and special critical duty alloys, were examined by experts from Germany’s TÜV SÜD, a leader in international expertise, tests and certification. Auditors checked all key workshops and production management, organisation and control systems.

Their analysis of the quality management system confirmed its efficiency and the sufficiency of the facility’s resources for making high-quality products. Specialty steels and alloys with special properties produced by Uralkuz’s Chelyabinsk subsidiary are used in knowledge-based industries, aviation and space complex, nuclear engineering and many other areas. The facility’s quality policy includes every employee’s personal responsibility for the products’ quality. The certificate enables the plant to obtain state orders as well as work for domestic and international clients.

Urals Stampings Plant’s Chelyabinsk subsidiary first got certified as compliant with the international ISO 9001:2008 standard in 2010 and has since then successfully passed annual supervisory and re-certification audits. Next year the facility plans to complete its quality management system’s transfer to the international standard’s new version, ISO 9001:2015.
