Caring for pensioners, including World War II veterans, has long been one of our priorities. We believe that private pension security is one of the most important features of an employee’s social benefits package, along with wages and salaries, bonuses, and medical insurance. Non-working pensioners of Mechel receive a monthly pension. During the most important holidays, veteran pensioners receive food baskets and money for medicine. We also provide charitable assistance to public organizations, and fund the construction of social and cultural facilities. In the Irkutsk Oblast, Mechel sponsors a number of social projects, including the «Youth Against ... » festival series, which engages in public activity against anti-social behavior like smoking, drug addiction and drinking. | |||
