Yakutugol Completes Key Stage in Washing Plant’s Sweeping Upgrade

Yakutugol Holding Company (part of Mechel Group) completed a series of key works as part of a large-scale repair campaign at its washing plant. This will enable the company to ensure stable operations at its production facilities, increase coal processing and output of high-quality coking coal concentrate. The plant’s produce is mostly exported to Asia Pacific’s steelmakers.

Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant (BMK AO, part of Mechel Group) produced its jubilee 20-millionth tonne of hardware. The total of 20 million tonnes of hardware is enough to load some 300,000 railcars, of a train that would be over 4,000 kilometers long — the length of Russia’s territory from north to south.

Mechel Upgrades Key Facility at Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant

Bratsk, Russia – 15 April 2020 – Mechel PAO (MOEX: MTLR, NYSE: MTL), one of the leading Russian mining and metals companies, reports launching an upgraded furnace at Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant. The upgrade boosted the ferroalloy ore-smelting furnace’s capacity from 25 MVA to 33 MVA. This will enable the plant to increase the furnace’s output by 40%.
