Izhstal confirms product compliance with EU quality and safety standardsIzhstal PAO (part of Mechel Group, MOEX: IGST) confirmed its steel products’ compliance with EU requirements. The plant was granted a certificate allowing it to put CE markings on its products, which means that the plant is using safe raw materials and complies with European norms.
Experts from the leading certifier TÜV Rheinland Group conducted an audit on the plant’s compliance with the European CPR 305/2011 regulations. They evaluated the plant’s quality management system’s efficiency, its technical documentation, inspected steelmaking and rolling facilities, examined the state of measuring tools and the central lab’s equipment as well as the product testing process on several key counts.
Auditors concluded that Izhstal’s production and product testing processes are fully compliant with quality and safety requirements current in EU member states.
Today the plant’s products are exported to such EU countries as Belgium, Germany, Hungary, France, the Czech Republic, Latvia and Bulgaria. Its quality management system is certified as compliant with the international ISO 9001:2015 standard.
“The certificate of our compliance with the European CPR 305/2011 regulations adds to our customers’ trust for our products and enables us to expand our export geography,” Izhstal PAO’s Managing Director Sergey Kozennov noted.
