Urals Stampings Plant demonstrates major output increaseUrals Stampings Plant (Uralkuz PAO, part of Mechel Group, MOEX: URKZ) increased output of products shipped to customers by 43% in the first quarter of 2018 year-on-year.
Over the first three months of this year, Urals Stampings Plant produced and shipped off nearly 35,000 tonnes of hot-stamped products, which is more by 10,400 tonnes than in the same period last year. The most growth could be seen in output of railroad wagon axles, which went up by approximately 63%, with shipments of carbon-steel stampings showing the same increase.
“Stable production growth of wagon axles required introducing new facilities. Late last year, we launched an additional upgraded hammer line,” Urals Stampings Plant PAO’s Managing Director Viktor Matsenko noted.
Steel for Urals Stampings Plant’s stampings comes from Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant which is also part of Mechel Group. Intragroup cooperation enables the plant to promptly react to market changes, fulfill orders in minimal time and guarantee high product quality.
